Oxford Sustainable Finance Group’s, Energy Transition Risk and Cost of Capital Project (ETRC) approached us to develop their 2024 Cost of Capital & Investment Tracking report, a cornerstone publication offering critical insights into the shifting dynamics of global energy financing. This report was particularly significant given the economic backdrop of rising interest rates and the urgent need to maintain momentum in the transition to renewable energy.

The challenge

ETRC faced two challenges:

  1. Complex information design: The report contained detailed and nuanced findings that needed to be distilled into an accessible and visually compelling document for a diverse audience, including policymakers, investors, and academics.
  2. Strategic launch and outreach: To ensure maximum impact, ETRC wanted a coordinated social media campaign that would effectively announce and summarise the report, driving engagement and discussion within their key audience groups.

The action

To meet these challenges, we developed a comprehensive strategy that integrated design expertise with impactful digital marketing:

In partnership with Hutch, we collaborated with ETRC’s research team to structure and format the report in a way that brought clarity to complex data. Key actions included prioritising a reader-centric layout by designing a clean, professional layout that prioritised readability, with clear sectioning and callouts for major insights.

We launched a tailored social media campaign to amplify the report’s release which was created by the in-house team at OxSFG, focusing on LinkedIn and Twitter to target professionals and organisations in energy, finance, and academia.

The results

The redesigned report has a clear and professional presentation, with several stakeholders commenting on how the visuals made the report easy to navigate. The social media campaign garnered over 4,000 impressions.

This successful collaboration demonstrated our ability to not only communicate complex research effectively but also ensure it resonates with the right audiences. For organisations like OxSFG that are looking to maximise the impact of their work, we provide the perfect blend of content expertise and marketing precision.
