Supporting First Light charity and joining the 16 Days of Activism

Supporting First Light charity and joining the 16 Days of Activism Culture.

We believe in the transformative power of compassion and collective action.
As an agency, we’re proud to work with a number of B2Community organisations but we want to do more. That’s why we’ve chosen to support the charity First Light, an organisation dedicated to bringing hope and healing to those affected by domestic violence and abuse.

First Light’s commitment to providing essential services, refuge and support aligns with our values which makes them a natural choice for a charity to support. Agile supported First Light with brand development and communications support during 2017, so we have worked closely with this incredible team and understand the impact of their work across the South West for survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse.

They’re doing important work helping victims of domestic and sexual violence, offering them a lifeline to navigate the complex journey towards safety and recovery. In 2022 – 2023 they helped a staggering 14,002 people. Their approach encompasses not only immediate shelter but also a range of counselling and advocacy services that address the diverse needs of survivors. Last year their helpline handled an incredible 17,195 calls.

By championing the cause of First Light, we’re contributing to the creation of a world where no one has to endure the devastating effects of domestic violence alone.

16 Days of Activism

UN Women has launched 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence which runs from 25th November to 10th December.

We’re engaging in the 16 Days of Activism as we want to help create lasting change, challenge societal norms and promote a culture of empathy, support and resilience.

The 16 Days of Activism is not just a time-bound campaign; it is a rally cry for sustained activism and support throughout the year. By participating in this movement and by supporting Frist Light we aim to inspire a cultural shift that rejects violence and fosters empathy, solidarity, and resilience.

“We have had the huge privilege of working with First Light a few years ago in their brand development and communications. Through that, I was able to see at first hand how the incredible work impacts so many people in the South West who have survived domestic abuse and sexual violence. Supporting First Light and participating in the 16 Days of Activism is not just about giving back; it's about investing in a future where our community thrives without the shadows of domestic violence. It's not a checkbox on our corporate responsibility list; it's a conscious decision to be part of a movement that stands for compassion, resilience, and real, lasting change. Our support is more than financial; it's a statement that we believe in a world where everyone deserves safety, support, and the chance to rebuild. It's not just good for business; it's the right thing to do."

In supporting First Light and engaging in the 16 Days of Action, we recognise the urgency of addressing domestic violence as a societal issue that demands collective responsibility. Through our partnership with First Light and our active participation in the 16 Days of Action, we strive to contribute to a world where compassion triumphs over cruelty, and women and girls can live free from fear and violence.
