Tis the season for joy, laughter, and the hustle and bustle of festive preparations!
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed with all the work that goes into making Christmas memorable. But we’re about to share our secret for a stress-free festive season!
We LOVE using Trello, but we don’t just use it to keep our projects running with perfection. We also rely on Trello to make sure we have a smooth Christmas, giving us more time to savour the joy of the season.
Ready to unwrap the magic of Trello for a stress-free Christmas?
Using Trello for Christmas
The first thing you need to do is set up a festive board, one dedicated for planning the holidays. Why not have some fun with it and set a Christmasy background.
You can create different columns or lists depending on how you use the board.
I like to set mine up like this:
Ideas > Recipes > Presents to buy > To do > Doing > Done >
But if you’d like a different layout – go for it! Do what works for you. You could have lists/columns for gift shopping, decorations, meal planning, events etc.
Now you’ve decided on your lists/columns you can crack on with your Christmas planning journey by creating individual cards for all the tasks and ideas you have.
Within each list, break down your tasks into actionable items. For instance, under “Presents to buy” create cards for each person on your gift list. Attach gift ideas, set due dates for purchases, you can even link online shopping sites for quick access. Trello’s checklist feature is perfect for tracking your progress as you find the ideal presents.
You can even add colour coded tags to make it easier to see the status of tasks. If a present has been ordered yet and so on.
Keep on track with due dates and reminders
Stay ahead of the holiday rush by setting due dates for crucial tasks. Whether it’s finalising your menu, sending out greeting cards, or scheduling family activities, Trello’s reminder notifications will keep you on track. No more last-minute scrambles – just timely, well-orchestrated holiday planning.
Christmas is often a team effort, with family and friends pitching in to create festive magic. Trello’s collaborative features make it easy to involve your loved ones in the planning process. You can share your board with family members, assign tasks, and watch as everyone contributes to a memorable celebration.
Trello isn’t just about task management; it’s also a great tool for gathering inspiration. Create a list for “Christmas Ideas” where you can collect decoration concepts, and even links to holiday playlists. Having everything in one place makes it simple to bring your vision to life.
